I. Audition
Required for all applicants. The type of audition varies per program.See
Audition Guidlines
II. Written Application
A written application is required for each program you apply for,
yet only one processing fee is required. See Application Checklist,
page 18, for assembly and mailing instructions. Be sure all materials
are complete and legible.

B. Application Processing Fee, Non-refundable. If postmarked:
by February 16–$25 • by March 30–$40 on or after March 31–$45
(Complete Section V of application form)
C. Attachments
1. Written Statement (2 copies, typed, 1
page maximum, title the page with your name) Describe (a)
current course of study or work; (b) career aspirations; and
(c) experiences needed to reach these goals.
2. Resume/Vita (2 copies, typed)
Include,
as applicable: (a) Training History: forms, teachers, length
of study; (b) Performing Experience: company, choreographer,
roles; (c) Choreographic Experience: where presented, dates;
(d) Schools/Colleges: dates of degrees, diplomas earned or
pending; (e) Dance Honors/Awards; and (f) Name, Title, Phone,
and Email for two dance artists or teachers who can speak
about you work.
3. Photograph/Headshot (label each copy with
your name) Ballet: Full-length first arabesque photo. (1 copy)
Cultural Traditions: Full body photo preferred; headshot accepted.
(1 copy) Contemporary Traditions: Full body photo preferred;
headshot accepted. (1copy) Jazz/Musical Theatre Dance: Headshot.
(2 copies)
4. Support Documentation (originals are not
required) If 17 and under: One recommendation letter from
a current teacher that: (a) identifies your name and program
preferences; and (b) describes (i) technical and performance
artistry; (ii) stamina to participate in rigorous, professional
level classes and rehearsals; and (iii) ability to live away
from home and interact responsibly in a diverse, professional
artist community. Pre-professional dancers: Copies of any
certificates, dance honors or awards, as applicable. Choreographers
and professional dancers: Selected programs, reviews, and
articles about your work.

Deadlines and Notifications
All applications postmarked by March 30, 2009 are reviewed for
acceptance consideration. After March 30, the review is for wait
list consideration, unless places remain for acceptance. All applicants
will receive written notice of admission status; generally no
later than May 8, 2009.
